Course Overview

AAMT offers a variety of initial aircraft type training courses. We can offer Maintenance Initial and Avionics Initial courses as well as combined Initial and Avionics courses depending on your training requirements.

Our Initial courses cover the following:

  • A detailed understanding of the aircraft’s systems and instruments, as well as their primary functions, limitations, and their general architecture.
  • A detailed knowledge of related components and their locations.
  • A working knowledge and interpretation of the aircraft’s maintenance manuals, agsschematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Familiarization with various maintenance checks related to the aircraft and the most common defects.
  • Special tooling related to the aircraft.
  • Troubleshooting methods and an understanding of common faults related to various systems.
  • Use of on-board maintenance systems.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft avionics and instruments.

We use a variety of visual media, diagrams, and other training aids in conjunction with our training manuals. In many cases, we also have access to the aircraft and can conduct live demonstrations to give students a better hands-on understanding of the aircraft systems.

We prefer a “Practical hands-on” approach to maintenance training. Each of our instructors is actively working on the aircraft and is up to date with the latest in-service developments.

We also offer an optional, aircraft based, hands-on, “Practical” Add on.

Upon completing one of our courses and passing the examinations, participants will receive a certificate issued by AAMT.
