Course Overview

The Aviation industry is suffering from a serious manpower and skills shortage that is only expected to get worse with many of the most experienced industry experts soon retiring and younger generations reluctant to join technical trades such as aviation maintenance.

Boeing’s Pilot and Technician Outlook reported 610,000 new aviation maintenance technicians will be required  for MRO services over the two decades.

This lack of manpower can be attributed to a variety of factors such as:

Awareness: Many students and potential candidates may not be aware of the career opportunities and the demand for aviation maintenance technicians. There might be a lack of promotion and marketing of technical programs that lead to careers in this field.

Perception: Some students and parents may have misconceptions about technical careers, assuming that they are less prestigious or financially rewarding compared to other professions.

Cost: Enrolling in technical schools and training programs can be expensive for some individuals, which may discourage potential candidates from pursuing these paths.

Competition: The aviation industry faces competition for talent with other sectors, making it crucial to emphasize the benefits and potential for growth in aviation maintenance careers.

AAMT has created a solution that intends to help bridge the gap between generations and pass down the decades of knowledge that our educators have accumulated throughout their careers.
